Sea marks not loading (404)

I'm getting a lot of 404 errors on the Sea Mark tiles. Is this a known problem?

URLs like http://t1.openseamap.org/seamark/18/140282/82076.png are all returning 404.

Re: Sea marks not loading (404)

This is feature, not a bug! The seamark layer is a sparse tile array with only non-blank tiles populated. Therefore any application downloading tiles should expect 404s and treat them accordingly.

Re: Sea marks not loading (404)

Hi there, I am sorry if I post here but I always thought that http://t1.openseamap.org/seamark/ did not accept my tile request because my browser console display "network error"
until I see this post.

This helps me to zoom deeper into my map so that I can see sea marks are really drawn smile .

Thanks.

Re: Sea marks not loading (404)

This 404 behavior will change with the new server alpha in beginning of 2016.

Have a look here: http://sourceforge.net/p/openseamap/mai … /34615521/

- Remove the 404 errors if a seamark tile contains no seamarks
-> deliver a transparent tile instead
Has somebody a better idea or problems with that? This change may
break some systems that depend on the current behavior.
