Hi everybody,
I'm experiencing a strange situation.
Using OpenCpn 3.2.2, I downloaded the ONC-EnglishChannel_north12.kap chart.
It greatly shows the coast, land map and frontiers.
But I have no buoy appearing, nor any mark out or lighthouse.
As I reduce the scale, the image becomes kind of "blur-ed". (scale 71500 with OpenCpn)
So, I've got a chart with no sea marks, but it shows all as I go to the head URL http://map.openseamap.org/
Can you help ?
Regards.

Hi richard,
Open Nautical Charts are outdated:

Sorry, Dirk

Hi Dirk,
Thanks for the answer.
The links lead to the chart I've already downloaded; more precisely, I can see buoys beyond the belgian border towards the NE (without their name), but nothing along the french coast.
As I load the ONC-EnglishChannel_center12.kap chart, I can see very few buoys, and anyway no lighthouse or whatever.
Should I switch to the png chart ? Or is it a quality issue in the kap file ? Should I switch to another kap reader than OpenCpn ?
Have a nice day.
Richard.

Look at the date (column 'Modified') of these files, .png/ .kap/ .jpr are all rendered back in 2011! OSM/OseaM database ist constanly changing/improving, so I guess, back in 2011 there was just less to show.
Contact the maintainers of ONC and ask them to rerender the area you are interested in....
Have a nice day, Dirk

Thank you kannix,
I'll see what they can do, and post the results.
