Marine traffic info

Hi everybody,

I have a question about 'Marine Traffic layer. What kind of license applies to it? can anybody embed that data / layer in an external web or application? can it be considered 'free & open' as the rest of 'your' layers?

By the way, the link to 'License' info in map.openseamap.org is broken: http://map.openseamap.org/legend.php?la … ge=license

Thanks in advance,

Victor,

You should refer to http://www.marinetraffic.com for information about usage and licensing of their data.

Thanks Malcom. I will have a look at it.

I was just wondering why AIS data seems to be 'privative' in contrast with the 'open philosophy' that I expected to find in OpenSeaMap. Are the rest of the layers on this site under Open Database License (ODbL), as it happens in OpenStreetMap?
