Re: .kap, .jpg and .mbtiles

Hi Dirk,
tried to use the pdf2 table tool to extract the tables. Works like a charm. But how do I get the resulting xml files into libreoffice. I cannot use the Nitro Pro 9. I am in Horta/ Azores right now and do not have a Windows Machine.

Another thing: The depth layers you are using right now are very nice for the North Sea and the German coastline in the Baltic, but there is nothing more for the rest of the world. Couldn't one use the 2014 Gebco depth layer for the rest of the world? http://osm.franken.de/client/osm_gwc_2014.html . It has the IMHO very useful 25 and 50 m contours which do not cover the land with the milky layer.

Cheers,
Christian

Re: .kap, .jpg and .mbtiles

Hi Christian,

Niko added 'PDF2Table', I never tried using this converter.

Yes, implementing other deph-layers should work, too.

Have a nice day, Dirk

Re: .kap, .jpg and .mbtiles

OK, I got a quite complicated toolchain working. Open xml file in any texteditor and add a "," at the end of every text field (do search and replace " </text>" with ", </text>"). Then, save file with a html extension. Open in any browser- the text can be copy/ pasted into a new text file. Save as csv and open in Libreoffice. Wasn't that hard was it ;-).

My next problem now is the conversion from dd mm.mm to dd.dddd. What do I do with the "=WENN((RECHTS(N2;1)="W");(LINKS(N2;FINDEN("°";N2)-1)+WERT(TEIL(N2;FINDEN("°";N2)+1;LÄNGE(N2)-2-FINDEN("°";N2)))/60)*-1;(LINKS(N2;FINDEN("°";N2)-1)+WERT(TEIL(N2;FINDEN("°";N2)+1;LÄNGE(N2)-2-FINDEN("°";N2)))/60))" - the wikipage is completely unclear about how to utilize this. A test with putting a dd mm.mm value in cell N2 returned an error.

Sorry for all the questions, you probably are wishing to have done all the work yourself by now ;-)...

Cheers,
Christian
