Use AIS for correction buoy location?

Since some time on the seamap we can see the location and name of ships, but of buoys too. (The red circles)
Most buoys are on (almost) the same location as the displayed AIS location.
But I noticed a larger distance (0.35nm ≈ 650 m) for Foxtrot 3 light vessel. See: … TFFTFFFFFF
Foxtrot 3 LV is drawn at the coordinates coming from US NGA Pub. 114 (2016).
Is it wise to use the AIS location for updating the buoy/light vessel coordinates?

Re: Use AIS for correction buoy location?

The positions given in NGA LoL are not very accurate - I have found some that are out by 1km or more. Also their sources are the various lighthouse/harbour authorities, who do not always report changes. It would be safer to use the current AIS position.
